How has FXB changed/affected your life?: My FXB experience began with a short-term goal to lose weight and look better for my son's wedding and to exercise with with his fiance' as a way to bond and get to know each other better. Those goals were easily met by showing up every day and following the program. But I also felt so much better and healthier physically, mentally, and emotionally. At Farrell's New Hope I was surrounded every day by motivating, caring, hard-working, passionate, fun people who are now my closest friends. The Farrell's fit lifestyle is part of who I am!

I have always felt a deep personal satisfaction when I help other people achieve their goals. I enjoy that even more that meeting my own! At Farrell's I've been privileged to celebrate the successes of many other members as an coach, instructor and (now amazingly I can add), FXB owner! What started as a means to look better for Zach and Krista's wedding has become a family partnership with them! I love our immediate and extended family at Farrell's New Hope! My husband, Jim and I are on the ride of our lives!

Why did you start FXB?
My soon to be mother-in-law (Deb Boatman) asked me to join with her, I very skeptically couldn't say no to her.  I fell in LOVE with the place on Day 1!!
What did you gain from Farrell's?
A chance to love what I do everyday. And an extended family and group of friends with common goals and interests.
Why are you instructing?
To give back what others did for me. To help people change physically but more importantly to help them grow mentally and gain confidence! It's the most rewarding job I've ever been blessed to fulfill!

Turning Unachievable into Achievable at Farrell’s!

Joining Farrell’s has honestly been one of the best decisions I have made. Farrell’s Bettendorf has given me my confidence back. I am happy with the person looking back at me in the mirror, and most importantly this is exactly what I needed to get my metabolism back in check.

From Couch to Farrell’s Owner

I enrolled at Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping and decided to take nutrition seriously. Between nutrition, kickboxing and strength training, I had lost 46 pounds in the first 10 weeks of my program.* Good friends didn’t even recognize me. Coincidentally, I had the highest production of business earned in a quarter in 17 years as a financial planner.

Train Smarter, not harder wanted me to warm up at a pace that seems so ridiculously slow to me that I felt like a fraud even calling it “running. So, I ignored the slower paced warm-up, and would run at what I considered my warm-up pace. Every run I failed at the 3 sets of two-minute sprint intervals. I just kept feeling like a failure and struggled to understand why my body wasn’t able to perform at the level I was asking of it. What I didn’t understand was that I was over-training my body in warm-up and therefore unable to produce the level of performance I was being asked to.  Essentially, I was training harder, not smarter.

Farrell’s Holds Us Accountable!

For anyone that doesn’t know Farrell’s, it is a place where an average Joe of any size or shape can come and meet people that are exactly like them. We all walk in and leave our shoes and egos at the door. We are all there for similar reasons and it shows, no judgment. Common interests and camaraderie bring us together to make it through the kickboxing and strength training workouts. Sometimes you need the help and sometimes you give the help.
